The demise of Road Warrior Animal (Joe Laurinaitis), who was the member of the legendary tag-team The Road Warriors aka Legion of Doom, has shocked the wrestling world to its core. Former WWE Champion The Rock paid homage to the wrestling legend on social media.

The Rock shared a touching post on his Instagram account on passing away of the Hall of Famer, Road Warrior Animal (Joe Laurinaitis). The legend passed away aged 60 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Orange Beach, Missouri.

The Rock shared an image of Legion of Doom. In his caption, he revealed how the Road Warrior Animal(Joe Laurinaitis) and Road Warrior Hawk(Michael Hegstrand) guided and taught him the art of wrestling in his early days in the business.

The People’s Champ also opened up that he had wrestled them multiple times in his younger days. He claims the tag-team to be the “most intense, legit tough bad asses tag team in the history of the wild world of pro wrestling.”

The Rock then labelled Legion of Doom to be the “Greatest tag team of all time.”

Back in 1997, The Rock with Nation of Domination was involved in a feud against Legion of Doom. Ahmed Johnson and Ken Shamrock partnered with Legion of Doom and defeated The Nation of Domination and The Rock at Survivor Series to put an end to the rivalry.

The Rock was not the only wrestler to pay tribute to the Hall of Famer.

Thunder Rosa, the AEW star who wears face paint, also paid homage to the wrestling legend during her entrance on the latest edition of AEW Dynamite. She sported a different designed face paint to pay tribute to Road Warrior Animal.

Road Warrior Animal(Joe Laurinaitis) won the WWF Tag Team Championship twice with Road Warrior Hawk and WWE Tag Team Championship once with Heidenreich. He was also inducted in WWE Hall of Fame 2011 as the part of Legion of Doom.
