2020 has been a year to forget overall and one of the reasons behind it was the brutal murder of George Floyd. Former NBA player Stephen Jackson, who was a close friend of Floyd, joined forces with a local Atalanta rapper to throw a birthday party for the 7-year-old Gianna.

Floyd’s demise triggered a mass outbreak in America demanding justice for black lives, the movement also impacted the NBA season as well.

The former basketball player claims that he works hard to shield her from the trauma and did not want that to be the tone for her seventh birthday. Jackson with his Love to All Who Have Love for All organization had help in the form of successful local Atalanta rapper Lil Baby, who set the tone for the party which included socially distanced guests congregated at the Pink Hotel.

We did it because after the cameras stop rolling and after the attention is off the incident that occurred with the loss, the horrific death of George Floyd, we want to provide long term support for Gianna and other kids that have lost their parents to violence.”
