“If you do not take this next fight from me, you will not be remembered. Your legacy will forever be tainted if you do not accept this fight,” García addressed Davis, “It’s the most important fight to boxing right now.”

“I don’t have time for celebrations. I’m on one mission,” the 22-year-old went on, “I’m on a mission to knock out Gervonta Davis in two rounds … This man will go down. Two rounds — that’s a promise.”

Gervonta Davis was last seen in action back on 31st October 2020 when he defeated Léo Santa Cruz to clinch the WBA (Super) super featherweight belt as well as retain his  WBA (Regular) lightweight title.

García even went onto parallel a fight against Davis to the highly anticipated potential upcoming heavyweight bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

“This is the fight. Joshua needs to fight Fury and I need to fight Gervonta. That’s it! We need to get this on. I’m going for it! This is it!” a super enthusiastic García added.

While García is dreaming to have his much awaited fight with Davis in the squared circle, the interim champion has to face WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney (25–0, 15 KOs), with WBC already on the works to make the bout a reality very soon.
