Undefeated lightweight and former WBC interim champion Ryan Garcia (22-0, 18 KOs) has expressed the desire to square off against Isaac Cruz (23-2-1, 16 KOs) in July, and Garcia’s wish comes in the wake of Cruz defeating former WBA and IBF featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa last Saturday.
Despite his loss to WBA lightweight champ Gervonta Davis in December, Isaac Cruz garnered appreciation for going the distance against “Tank” and now, Mexican pugilist made a stellar return to the ring, marking a 5th round TKO victory over Gamboa (30-5, 18 KOs) on 16th April at the AT&T Stadium and winning the vacant WBO Inter-Continental lightweight belt in the process.

Ryan Garcia wants Isaac Cruz fight in Los Angeles
Ryan Garcia, who recently made his much awaited return to the ring with a unanimous decision victory over Emmanuel Tagoe at the Alamndrome in San Antonio on 9th April, took to Twitter to reveal that he is ready to take on “Pitbull” in July, and “KingRy” also added that he wants the fight to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Even though Garcia made his comeback against Tagoe, he had originally wished to face Cruz on his return fight. In December last year, it was also revealed that Golden Boy Promotions was making efforts to host Garcia vs Cruz in either March or April.
