Ryan Garcia will not continue with Hall of Famer Joe Goossen as coach after his recent loss to Gervonta Davis, as the latest reports that have surfaced claim.
The news of the split was first reported by Mike Coppinger of ESPN, who added that while Garcia has decided to continue at 140, there is yet to be any decision made about a new trainer.
“Star boxer Ryan Garcia and trainer Joe Goossen have parted ways after three fights, sources told ESPN, the last of which came vs. Gervonta Davis. The PPV event – Garcia’s first – was a massive commercial success. He’ll now campaign at 140 pounds, but no decision has been made on his next trainer,” Coppinger wrote on Twitter.

Ryan Garcia began working with Joe Goossen for his fight against Emmanuel Tagoe in April 2022. With Goossen, Ryan racked up two wins and one loss, with one of those wins coming as a knockout against Javier Fortuna.
Before, Garcia had been with Eddy Reynoso as a trainer, with whom he had five wins in five fights. The fighter left the Reynoso gym arguing that he was not given the due attention due to the number of fighters he had in the gym, and because of the commitments Eddy had with Canelo Álvarez.
