FC Barcelona has relieved boss Ronald Koeman of his duties after the club suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat at the hands of Rayo Vallecano in La Liga. This has led Barca to the ninth position on the league table.
FC Barcelona sacks Ronald Koeman
Koeman has been in dire straits and the performance of the club went worse with every match and the board is seemingly fed up with the outcome. Thus, they decided to sack Ronald Koeman after Wednesday’s La Liga outing against Rayo Vallecano.
FC Barcelona also issued an official statement that read:
“FC Barcelona has relieved Ronald Koeman of his duties as first team coach. The president of the club, Joan Laporta, informed him of the decision after the defeat against Rayo Vallecano. Ronald Koeman will say goodbye to the squad on Thursday at the Ciutat Esportiva.
FC Barcelona wishes to thank him for his service to the Club and wishes him all the best in his professional career.”

Barca could soon have a replacement for Koeman as a longtime midfielder and current Al Sadd head coach Xavi has been offered the job. Xavi has an exit clause with the Qatar side but it is understood that he wants to move to Barcelona, who are prepared to pay the fee needed to secure the 41-year-old.
