WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been granted a release by WWE. It was previously reported by Wrestling Inc and Fightful.

WWE have been making some major cuts in recent times. The former WWE star Bray Wyatt was shockingly released as well recently.
However, this time around it was Ric Flair himself who had reached out to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon for the release. The 16-time World Champion is one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time and WWE have suffered a major blow losing him.

However, his daughter, Charlotte Flair remains with the company. Flair was was last featured on WWE TV back in February 2021. He was involved in a romantic storyline with Lacey Evans, who was feuding with Charlotte. The angle was dropped after Evans became pregnant in real life.
Previously, during an interview with Ariel Helwani back in May, Flair revealed that he and Lacy Evans were both very uncomfortable with the storyline. He was furious about how WWE creative came up with the storyline.
