Randy Orton equals Triple H’s 14th World Championship reign

Randy Orton pulls a cheeky joke referring to Batista's acting career - THE SPORTS ROOM

Orton said that he is glad to join the club of the WWE icons who have achieved the title reigns fourteen times and it is a sweet victory over Drew McIntyre. He has joined the likes of his mentors, Triple H [14x], Ric Flair [16x], and Orton’s one of the greatest rivals, John Cena [16x].

He said, “Is the 14th sweeter [than the rest]? Yes, it is. There’s a short list of men who have held this title 14 times or more. I am now a part of a list that includes my mentor Ric Flair, my greatest-ever opponent John Cena, and Triple H, another one of my mentors. So, yes, if tonight’s win didn’t make me a legend, at least it is sweet.”

Orton said that ‘legend’ word is used loosely these days and he used to be the legend killer, ending many careers of the legends in the past.

He has been the youngest World Champion in WWE and he is in WWE for over two decades. Often called as the legend because of his achievements, Orton has explained this to be another reason for the victory to be sweet.

Orton said, “Some have said I’m a legend, but I think they only say that because of my accomplishments, of which I have many. But that’s more because I’ve been here [in the WWE] since I was 19. I’ve been here for over 20 years, and that’s why this [14th World Title] is so sweet.”
