Charlotte Hornets stalwart PJ Washington has gotten into a hoop that he cannot get out of for the next eighteen years, as the 22-year-old forward is forced to pay a hefty $200k every month for child support.
Washington agreed on the lumpsum amount after Brittany Renner, a model on Instagram and his baby mama, had secretly filed for divorce just two weeks after giving birth to a child.
As per reports from various media sources, Renner will receive more than half of what Washington earns annually from his contract with the Hornets. Still, on his rookie deal, he has earned $7.8 million as a pro to date and is estimated to earn somewhere in the region of $14 million over the next two NBA seasons.
Renner, currently one of the most hated personalities on social media, made headlines back in 2019 when she attended one of Washinton’s games in Kentucky. They went official last year and in May this year, the player confirmed that they welcomed a baby boy.
However, the relation between them seemingly started to show its cracks after a few months, with Washington posting and deleting a tweet that read something in the lines of someone who was “faking it all along.”
Last night, the number 12 pick in the 2019 draft sent out a tweet that read “Stop the 🧢 (cap)”.
