Following his brief time with the Tennessee Titans, veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett is once again surrounded by people he knows.
During the summer, Lockett signed a $4 million, one-year contract with the Titans; however, last week, the organization released him at his request. Now, the 33-year-old is back with his former quarterback and head coach.
Several rumors claim that Lockett agreed to a contract with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday.
with the first nine seasons of the former third-round pick’s NFL career, Lockett was tutored by Raiders head coach Pete Carroll while playing with the Seattle Seahawks. Lockett played with Geno Smith for six seasons in Seattle from 2019 to 2024. Smith is currently the primary quarterback in Las Vegas.
In seven games with the Titans, Lockett only managed 10 receptions for 70 yards and no touchdowns. His brief tenure in Tennessee was primarily characterized by frustration, but he was instrumental in one of the season’s wildest plays.
With only 182.7 passing yards per game this season—27th in the NFL—the Raiders have had trouble throwing the ball. They are expecting that their attack will get some value from Lockett and Smith’s experience.
From 2019 to 2022, Lockett had four seasons with 1,000 yards or more. During his rookie season in 2015, he was selected as a kick returner to the First Team All-Pro.
