Paul George recently lauded Russell Westbrook’s intensity and noted that his intensity proved to be one of the key reasons why the LA Clippers registered a comeback win over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday night NBA clash.
The Clippers were trailing by a big margin at the onset of the game and were even down by 18 points in the fourth quarter.
However, it was Kawhi Leonard who led the comeback to end the game on a 22-0 to get the 125-114 win. Leonard racked 14 points in the final five minutes of the contest, finishing with 21 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Meanwhile, George struggled with just 12 points and he praised Westbrook for his intensity off the bench. The former MVP had 23 points, nine rebounds and six assists. He proved to be crucial in the Clippers’ thrilling victory, playing the full final period over Terance Mann.
Paul George sheds praise on Russell Westbrook
“Russ is intensity,” George said. “He brings it every night, every possession. In a game like tonight where we were pretty flat, couldn’t make shots, you needed someone to give you that extra kick. And Russ definitely brought that extra kick. He got that bounce and that step to him.”

Paul George and Russell Westbrook are now teammates for the second time. They initially played together with the OKC Thunder from 2017 to 2019. While Westbrook was transfered to the Houston Rockets, George was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
When the former MVP joined the Clippers last season, Westbrook and George reunited. Both in Oklahoma City and during their hometown reunion, the two grew closer.
