Germany, Algeria and Eritrea were participating countries in the men’s time trial. Moster was heard using the racial slur to encourage one of the cyclists, Nikias Arndt to catch up to the African cyclists. The term he used was very derogatory and he earned himself a suspension following the event.

Since the show was being broadcasted live nationwide, the remark became a hot topic of discussion back at his home, Germany.
