The former UFC star Paige VanZant has finally completed the crossover into pro-wrestling similar to what the MMA veteran Ronda Rousey did a few years back. After making several appearances as part of Dan Lambert’s American Top Team(Andrei Arlovski, Austin Vanderford, Dalton Rosta, Jorge Masvidal, Junior dos Santos), Paige VanZant finally inked a deal with All Elite Wrestling(AEW) on the latest edition of AEW Dynamite. The huge moment came upon after the main event of the show concluded as Scorpio Sky dethroned Sammy Guevara off the TNT Championship.
During the match, Sammy Guevara’s real life partner Tay Conti had come down to check on Guevara as the doctor checked on him. It was at this moment that Paige Van Zant, a fellow member of American Top Team started badmouthing Tay Conti while she was checking on Sammy.
Paige Vanzant officially signs a contract with AEW
The final moment of the match saw distractions from Ethan Page, Dan Lambert, and others eventually caught up to Sammy, and he got hit with Scorpio Sky’s finishing ‘TKO’ for the three count. Afterward, Paige Van Zant came in the ring and assisted in the beatdown of Sammy and Tay Conti. The American Top Team was witnessed celebrating as Paige Van Zant signed her AEW contract on Tay Conti’s back while she was laid with an assault.

While VanZant had been in talks with WWE, the deal between the two parties was not closed. She ended up making several appearances for AEW and recently AEW President Tony Khan had also dropped some hints on her signing. In a Tweet he had said:
“Knowing Dan Lambert I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him, so you won’t see a @paigevanzant is All Elite graphic or any confirmation of an agreement until something is signed, because I won’t rely on a Dan Lambert promise.”

Prior to signing with AEW, she had a stint with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship(BKFC). It was back in September last year when she made her first AEW appearance during the feud between The Inner Circle and American Top Team. As it seems Paige VanZant is set to be in a storyline with AEW star Tay Conti as part of her first feud in the company.
