NBA Week 9 Feb 16 results: Scores, standings, match summary and highlights

The second matchday of Week 9 of the 2020-21 NBA season has concluded and its time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.

Celtics 112 – 99 Nuggets

Despite Nikola Jokic landing another 40-point game, Boston Celtics maintained their pace ahead of Denver Nuggets to sweep up a victory at the TD Garden.

Jaylen Brown clocked 27 points for the hosts, while Jayson Tatum finished with 21. Tristan Thompson had 12 rebounds for 9 points.

Thunder 104 – 115 Trail Blazers

An early first quarter lead worked in favor of Portland Trail Blazers as they trounced Oklahoma City Thunder to register their fifth straight victory at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Damian Lillard posted 31 points with 10 assists, while Enes Kanter finished with 21 rebounds for 8 points.

Timberwolves 104 – 112 Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers cruised to their 22nd win of this NBA season, thrashing Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.

LeBron James led the visitors with 30 points and 13 rebounds, while Dennis Schröder ticked all the right boxes on filling in for Anthony Davis, finishing with 24 points.

Grizzlies 113 – 144 Pelicans

After a close first half, New Orleans Pelicans broke into a remarkable scoring spree in the second, outpacing Memphis Grizzlies to a dominating win at the FedExForum.

The young Zion Williamson shined with a score of 31, along with Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart who clocked 21 and 27 points respectively.

Bucks 113 – 124 Raptors

Milwaukee Bucks succumbed to their fourth defeat at the hands of Toronto Raptors at the Fiserv Forum.

Another doubler-double performance from Giannis was negated, while Fred VanVleet led the visitors with 33 points, along with Pascal Siakam clocking 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Suns 124 – 128 Nets

Two 40-point quarters turned the clash into a neck to neck battle but it was ultimately Brooklyn Nets who edged out Phoenix Suns at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

James Harden clocked 38 points with 11 assists, along with 22 points coming from Joe Harris.
