NBA Week 8 Feb 14 results: Scores, standings, match summary and highlights

The seventh matchday of Week 8 of the 2020-21 NBA season has concluded and its time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.

Wizards 104 – 91 Celtics

The struggling Washington Wizards once again punched above, this time upsetting the Boston Celtics at the Capital One Arena.

Bradley Beal led the hosts with 35 points, while Russell Westbrook almost had a triple-double, finishing with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists.

Pistons 123 – 112 Pelicans

Falling back in the first quarter, Detroit Pistons powered into the lead in the second half to thrash New Orleans Pelicans at the Little Caesars Arena.

Mason Plumlee clocked his first NBA career triple-double, finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Josh Jackson scored 21.

Raptors 112 – 116 Timberwolves

Minnesota Timberwolves went on a thirds quarter scoring spree to keep themselves ahead of Toronto Raptors till the end at the Amalie Arena.

Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 11 rebounds for 20 points, equalling Malik Beasley’s score of the night.

Hornets 110 – 122 Spurs

Despite Charlotte Hornets taking an early lead, a whopping 47-point Q2 burst San Antonio Spurs into taking the lead and finish with a win at the Spectrum Center.

Dejounte Murray shined with with a double-double for the visitors, scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Derrick White scored 25.

Mavericks 118 – 121 Trail Blazers

A nail-biting back and forth ended up in favour of Portland Trail Blazers as they narrowly edged out Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center.

Damian Lillard led the scoring with 34 points and 11 assists, as Luka Dončić’s effort of 44 got negated.

Thunder 114 – 109 Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks had a lackluster finish to their road trip, succumbing to a loss against Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Justin Jackson and Al Horford landed 22 and 20 points for the hosts respectively, while Giannis had the consolation of a triple-double.

Suns 109 – 90 Magic

Phoenix Suns registered their sixth straight victory by thrashing Orlando Magic at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Devin Booker scored 27, while Deandre Ayton clocked 13 rebounds for 10 points. Chris Paul finished with 12 points and 9 assists.

Kings 110 – 124 Grizzlies

Memphis Grizzlies concluded their west coast road trip with a win, defeating Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center.

Both Ja Morant and Jonas Valančiūnas finished with double-doubles, while Dillon Brooks scored 22.

Clippers 128 – 111 Cavaliers

An early lead in the first half kept Los Angeles Clippers ahead of Cleveland Cavaliers at the Staples Center.

Lou Williams finished with 30 points and 10 assists, along with Serge Ibaka scoring 21.

Nuggets 122 – 105 Lakers

Denver Nuggets broke away with a 40 point Q2 as they handed Los Angeles Lakers an utter surprise at the Ball Arena.

Nikola Jokić finished with a triple-double, scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists. Jamal Murray clocked a score of 25.
