NBA Week 6 Jan 27 results: Scores, standings, match summary and highlights

The third matchday of Week 6 of the 2020-21 NBA season has concluded and its time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.

Cavaliers 122 – 107 Pistons

Cleveland Cavaliers cruised to a comfortable victory over a struggling Detroit Pistons at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Although starting off with a close battle in the first half, the hosts pulled away in the second, Collin Sexton scored 29 points while Andre Drummond landed a score of 23 with 16 rebounds facing his former side.

Magic 107 – 121 Kings

Despite an effort in the final quarter, Orlando Magic were unable to hold off Sacramento Kings who ticked the right boxes early to seal a victory at the Amway Center.

Buddy Hield clocked a score of 29, with Richaun Holmes secured 12 rebounds and 20 points for his third double double this NBA season.

Hornets 106 – 116 Pacers

It was a near-impossible job for Charlotte Hornets to recover from the solid 17 point deficit Indiana Pacers cleared right in the first quarter as they had the last laugh at the Spectrum Center.

Doug McDermott topped the scoreboard with a career-highest 28 points, while Domantas Sabonis landed his 2nd triple-double of the season with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Raptors 108 – 115 Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks trounced Toronto Raptors to pick up their 11th with this season at the Amalie Arena

Giannis, tied with teammate Khris Middleton at 24 points, contributed 18 rebounds with 9 assists, in addition to a 5-point sequence from Donte DeVincenzo in the final quarter.

76ers 107 – 106 Lakers

It was a close shave for Philadelphia 76ers as Tobias Harris’s 3 pointer in the final seconds to pin down Los Angeles Lakers at the Wells Fargo Center.

A 10-point lead in Q1 worked at the end for the hosts as LeBron James’s 34 points were countered by the combined efforts of Joel Embiid and Harris who scored 28 and 24 respectively.

Hawks 128-132 Nets

The next to neck battle between Atalanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets at the State Farm Arena moved into OT, where the visitors kept themselves ahead with a 4 point victory.

Kevin Durant scored 32 points while James Harden landed 15 assists along with 31 points and 8 rebounds.

Heat 82 – 109 Nuggets

Miami Heat suffer another defeat with the Denver Nuggets taking over at the AmericanAirlines Arena.

Nikola Jokić powered the visitors with 21 points and 11 rebounds marking his 18th straight double-double of this season.

Spurs 110 – 106 Celtics

Boston Celtics pushed hard in Q3 to recover from the massive Q2 deficit but ultimately it was the night for San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center, with a season-high 20 turnovers.

DeMar DeRozan landed 21 points with 7 assists while the young Keldon Johnson contributed 10 rebounds.

Jazz 116 – 104 Mavericks

Despite the absence of Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz powered to a comfortable win over Dallas Mavericks at the Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Rudy Gobert lands another stupendous performance, securing 29 points with 20 rebounds in addition to 31 points from Jordan Clarkson.

Suns 97 – 102 Thunder

Despite taking an early 15 point lead, Phoenix Suns were caught up easily by Oklahoma City Thunder who edged past them to a win at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Chris Paul’s season highest score of 32 proved to be ineffective, as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 21 points, added with 11 rebounds and a score of 21 from Al Horford boosted the visitors to victory.

Pelicans 124 – 106 Wizards

Washington Wizards are having a hard time after their break as New Orleans Pelicans hammered against their visitors at the Smoothie King Center.

Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson tied at 32 points while Steven Adams registered 18 rebounds, negating Bradley Beal’s score of 47.

Warriors 123 – 111 Timberwolves

Staying ahead in the first half, plus a massive 13 point lead in Q3 earned Golden State Warriors a triumph over Minnesota Timberwolves at the Chase Center.

Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 20 points with 9 rebounds, in addition to 10 rebounds from Kevon Looney’s 12 minute game time. Steph Curry clocked 8 assists while scoring 16.
