NBA Playoffs: Conference Finals

Hawks 102-113 Bucks

The series shifted to Atlanta after the franchises split a game each at the Fiserv Forum. In a massive topsy-turvy game where quarters were traded, Bucks prevailed through a massive fourth quarter, where Khris Middleton outscored the entire Atlanta Hawks unit.

For the Hawks, the bigger concern than the trailing loss lies in the fact that their star guard Trae Young suffered an injury during the game and might be unavailable for the crucial Game 4.

While the guard came back to play in the fourth quarter after receiving treatment, he was far from his best. Middleton grabbed 20 points off Bucks’ 30 to steer them to a series-leading win.

The number five seed started the game on a bright note, embracing the energy from the home crowd. They romped away to a 25-10 in the first quarter, but the Bucks clawed their way to level things up at halftime.

Trae Young’s 35 points ended in vain as Giannis Antetokoumpo and Kris Middleton put on shows of their own to drag the contest from a five-point trail at 93-88 to a convincing 11 point win.

Apart from the top scoring effort of 38 points, Middleton also contributed with 11 rebounds and seven assists. His prolific evening was attributed to pinpoint shooting on 15-of-26 field-goal attempts and 6-of-12 from 3-point distance.

On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 33 points and 11 rebounds in the game to continue his fine postseason run.

Now, with Trae Young being a serious doubt for the next game, Bucks will look to close out Game 4 and take the series back to Milwaukee and extend their lead. Phoenix Suns, arguably have one foot set in the finals and will be eagerly waiting to see how the series folds out to learn their eventual opponent for the title.
