NASCAR Xfinity veteran Shane Van Gisbergen is all set to make a comeback on American tracks. SVG is planning to make an appearance in the ARCA Menards series race at Daytona. As per the reports, this is a precursor to get an approval for the NASCAR Xfinity series.

Fans are getting excited to witness an international driver take on American drivers. SVG vs AJ Allmendinger will be the pick of the lot, their rivalry on the road will be a treat to watch. Sam Mayer with three wins on road courses in 2023 is another strong challenger.

Trackhouse Racing president Ty Norris confirmed the news of Gisbergen on SiriusXM NASCAR “We’re in the process of getting [van Gisbergen] in the ARCA race for Daytona,” Norris said. “There’s a [pre-race practice] in January and the Xfinity Series has a pretty lengthy practice, so there’s a lot of opportunities to be observed. That’ll lead to an approval for Daytona and once he’s approved for Daytona, we’ll be able to go to any track on the circuit.”

SVG previously had an oval start in the Truck Series at IRP, starts at the Indy road course, and cup series at Chicago. Superspeedways are far more tricky as it is a lot more intense, fast, and dangerous. Racing at ARCA will prepare SVG for his Xfinity series start.

Fans are excited to witness the SVG’s NASCAR return

Fans are hopeful of at least a top-3 finish from Gisbergen, A three-time Bathurst 1000 winner, and three-time Supercars champ, as well as starts in the 24 Hours of Daytona and 24 Hours of Le Mans.

As the 34-year-old has a herculean challenge in front of him, Trackhouse Racing made sure he has adequate experience to get habituated to the racing tracks.

NASCAR’s approval process to race agitated a lot of fans, some pointed out their inconsistency in the process. Danica Patrick and Dario Franchitti were victims of similar programs but more recently Conor Daly didn’t have to go through the process.
