Mauricio Pochettino inked a deal with Premier League side Chelsea as the new head coach . The Argentine has signed a two-year contract with the option of a third and will officially take up his new role from July 1.
Chelsea endured a hugely difficult season with both Potter and Thomas Tuchel paying the price with their jobs.

He brings Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino, Toni Jimenez and son Sebastiano Pochettino with him as his backroom team. Club coaches are also expected join his staff.
Chelsea’s co-sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, who led the search, said: “Mauricio’s experience, standards of excellence, leadership qualities and character will serve Chelsea Football Club well as we move forward.
“He is a winning coach, who has worked at the highest levels, in multiple leagues and languages. His ethos, tactical approach and commitment to development all made him the exceptional candidate.”
Owners Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, Jose E Feliciano, Mark Walter and Hansjorg Wyss added: “The sporting team conducted a diligent and thoughtful process that the board is proud of.
“We are delighted that Mauricio will be joining Chelsea. Mauricio is a world-class coach with an outstanding track record. We are all looking forward to having him on board.”
Chelsea have been looking for a new permanent head coach since sacking Potter in April, with former boss Frank Lampard placed in temporary charge for the remainder of the season.
Mauricio Pochettino gained success at Espanyol and Southampton before a hugely successful spell with Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham. He also lead Tottenham Hotspurs to qualify for the top four in four-straight seasons as well as leading them to a first Champions League final in 2019.
Mauricio Pochettino was sacked the following season before taking up the role as head coach with PSG in January 2021.He won the Coupe de France in May 2021 before claiming the Ligue 1 title the following season.
