16-year-old Darts prodigy Luke Littler has showcased a mind-blowing performance to defeat Christian Kist 3-0 on his PDC World Darts Championships debut.
Luke Littler defeats Christian Kist
Littler’s age has baffled the fans as he headed into the clash as the underdog against the proficient Kist. However, in a shocking turn of events, Luke Littler prevailed after he hit the consistent bullseye. We can’t say The Dutchman displayed a poor performance on Wednesday night, but it was nowhere near enough to deal with the teenager.
The Englishman averaged an incredible 106.12 average score per visit and recorded a staggering seven 180s. His performance was not surprising after darts legend Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor’s recent comments. The veteran had said that the teenager would become one of the very best players in the world.

“Over the moon,” Luke Littler told Sky Sports. “My debut, my first game and I can’t believe how quickly I settled into the game. I was a bit nervous walking out but as soon as I found my rhythm, that was it.”
“It’s got to be at the top [of my achievements so far]. I’ve been playing since I was 18 months old, looking up to Phil Taylor, I know he’s watching so that one’s for you, Phil. I’m over the moon.”
It’s worth noting that victory was dedicated to his hero Phil Taylor, the sixteen world darts champion who was left stunned by what he had seen on TV back home in Stoke. Taylor, 63, said: “Great performance from Luke The Nuke. Well done buddy keep focused.”
Littler responded: “That is unbelievable to hear.”
“My main goal is to come back after Christmas.”
Littler will be back in action against Gilding on Thursday evening at Alexandra Palace in round two.
