2023 Early National Signing Day Updates : Jeremiah Smith, KJ Bolden, Dylan Raiola and more

The 2023 Early National Signing Day has been phenomenal with some players fulfilling their dreams and some taking unexpected turns on their commitments. Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, and Nebraska Cornhuskers have done some of the best business.

Jeremiah Smith, the top-ranked overall player, stayed true to his verbal agreement with the Buckeyes, despite major efforts from the Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles. The wide receiver has always wanted to join the Buckeyes and coach Ryan Day is finally relieved after the paperwork has been done and dusted after a little delay.

After Jeremiah committed to the Buckeyes, they turned their attention to five-star edge rusher Eddrick Houston. Eddrick had a long-term verbal commitment with the Buckeyes and now it’s on paper.

In addition to Eddrick and Jeremy, the Buckeyes have also added two five-stars, quarterback Air Noland and wide receiver Mylan Graham.

Raiola to the Huskers, Bolden to the Dawgs, Gators on a roll

Dylan Raiola flipped from Georgia to join the Nebraska Huskers under Matt Rhule‘s leadership. This is the 2nd time that the No.1 ranked quarterback flipped his decision. He committed to Day’s Ohio in the summer of 2022 but flipped to Georgia. This time, he flipped to Nebraska where his uncle Donovan Raiola is the offensive line coach.

KJ Bolden has flipped to Georgia from the Seminoles after being committed for over 4 months. He highlighted the facilities and relationships that will help in his development, upon joining the Georgia Dawgs.

The Dawgs are on a roll and they have signed five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV to improve their defense. 247Sports.com ranks Ellis as the third-best recruit of the 2024 class.

The Dawgs’s signing spree doesn’t end here. They have added five-star linebacker Justin Williams to their already talented roster.

DJ Lagway confirmed his commitment to the Florida Gators. The No.3 ranked quarterback brushed off flipping attempts from USC Trojans.

Williams Nwaneri, the No.2 ranked overall player, has committed to Missouri Tigers, as head coach Eliah Drinkwitz has convinced the highly talented defensive lineman to stay home.

Texas Tech has signed Micah Hudson, after his verbal commitment in September. A highly talented wide receiver ranked No.7 overall, has been dubbed as the biggest win in Tech’s history.

Five-star wide receiver Cam Williams has signed with Marcus Freeman’s Notre Dame. The elite wide receiver confirmed his commitment.

Dylan Steward fended off interest from the Buckeyes and Dawgs to sign for the South Carolina Gamecocks. The five-star edge rusher is ranked as the 2nd best edge rusher by 247Sports.com.

Elite defensive linesman, David Stone has signed with Oklahoma Sooners over interest from several other programs.

The No.1 ranked quarterback in the nation, Julian Sayin committed to Alabama. Touted as a top signing, Sayin is definitely to turn heads.

Texas Longhorns has signed highly ranked wide receiver Ryan Wingo, closing interest from Missouri and Nebraska.

Longhorns also has secured the signatures of three five-stars in edge rusher Colin Simmons, safety Xavier Filsaime, and offensive tackler Brandon Baker.

The biggest signing has been Jeremiah Smith till now. The Buckeyes, Gators, and Longhorns have the highest number of five-star recruits until the 2nd day of the National Signing Day.
