Luca Ghiotto’s Impressive Debut
Ghiotto, a former Formula 2 driver, stepped into the No. 51 Honda at Barber Motorsports Park in April. Despite having no prior testing, he showcased remarkable adaptability and determination. His 21st-place finish in that race was a testament to his talent and ability to quickly acclimate to the series.
Following his debut, Luca Ghiotto continued to make strides. At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, he secured a 25th-place finish, demonstrating consistency and resilience. For a driver transitioning from the European racing scene to the competitive INDYCAR environment, these performances were commendable.
What makes Ghiotto’s debut even more remarkable is his background in Formula 2. With seven career victories in that series, including a third-place finish in the FIA Formula 2 Championship standings, he brings a proven track record to the grid. Additionally, his role as a test and simulator driver for the Nissan Formula E team underscores his technical expertise and commitment to motorsport.
Dale Coyne Racing expressed confidence in Luca Ghiotto’s abilities, welcoming him back for the upcoming rounds at Road America and Laguna Seca. As fans eagerly anticipate his return, they can expect to witness a determined driver aiming to leave his mark in the INDYCAR paddock.
