Lil Wayne has been supportive of Ja even in the past when he got suspended twice from the NBA for a showcase of guns. In his support, Wayne said: “I know him from dunking and jumping, and I only started knowing him when I started paying attention to him around his last year of college. He come from like a town of 3,000 people. Like what? What y’all expect? Y’all have him $200 million.”

Wayne’s claim has been met with resistance from fans. Despite the sporting talent that Ja possesses, fans have been critical of his off-the-game antics.
