Stroll has been involved in Formula 1 since 2018, when he rescued the then-ailing Force India team from administration. He rebranded the team as Racing Point and later transformed it into Aston Martin F1, aligning it with the iconic British car manufacturer. Under his ownership, the team has made significant strides, securing a fifth-place finish in the Constructors’ Championship in 2023.

Lawrence Stroll, the Canadian billionaire and owner of the Aston Martin F1 team, is reportedly exploring the possibility of selling a minority stake in the racing business. According to Bloomberg, Stroll is willing to sell as much as 25% of the team.
The reported valuation for the potential stake sale is £1 billion ($1.3 billion), building on the success of a previous deal with US private equity firm Arctos Partners. Lawrence Stroll aims to capitalize on the team’s recent achievements and the growing popularity of Formula 1. However, any talks regarding the sale remain confidential, and there is no official announcement yet.
Lawrence Stroll’s son, Lance Stroll, and his future with the Aston Martin
Lance Stroll, the Canadian racing driver, currently drives for the Aston Martin F1 team. However, his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
Stroll has had a mixed start to the year. While he secured a solid 10th-place finish in the season-opener in Bahrain and out-qualified and out-raced his teammate Fernando Alonso in Australia, the other weekends haven’t gone as planned.
He crashed out of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix early on and suffered a Q1 exit in Japan, leaving him disappointed. The gap between him and Alonso is the largest between any duo on the grid (15 points). Some critics argue that Stroll isn’t maximizing the potential of his car compared to Alonso.
Lawrence Stroll, Lance’s father, owns the Aston Martin F1 team. This unique situation means that the decision regarding Lance’s future may be influenced by family dynamics. Fernando Alonso recently signed a new multi-year deal with Aston Martin, raising questions about whether Lance will complete the lineup for 2025.
