Jose Canseco, the former MLB outfielder was knocked out in 10 seconds of the first round of his Rough N’ Rowdy debut match, which took place in West Virginia on Friday night.

The 2-time World Series champion was featured in the main card of Rough N’ Rowdy 13, an event conducted by Barstool Sports. His opponent Billy Football, who is an intern at Barstool himself, was involved with some verbal feud with the baseball legend for quite some time.

“I’m fighting tonight for everyone who’s tired of Barstool Sports being on the internet,” Canseco had tweeted hours after the fight.

Billy Football wasted no time to fulfill his vow against Jose Canseco

As soon as the bell rang, Football landed a barrage of shots on Canseco, followed by a vicious jab that sent the 56-year-old down to the floor and was seen holding his shoulders. It was just 10 seconds of the first round and the referee stopped the bout.

Needless to say, Billy Football stayed true to his words that he uttered before facing Canseco. On the Barstool podcast ‘Pardon my Take’ where he himself is a contributor, Football promised absolute brutality against Canseco.

“There’s a very good chance he (Canseco) dies in the ring, I would commit manslaughter,” Billy had claimed on the podcast, “I wouldn’t commit murder. For the record, I have no intent to kill him.”

Similar intentions were also recorded from Billy’s interview with TMZ Sports, where the Barstool intern implied that a “very, very competitive side” of himself would come out inside the squared circle against the six-time All-Star.

“I think I’m gonna shock Jose. Jose has misjudged me and I think — as a lot of people would — they don’t actually know who I am and what I can sort of accomplish,” Billy said, “it’s gonna be very fun to shock the world and show everyone that ‘Oh, hey this guy’s for real’. This isn’t just some s***-show that got thrown together.”

After the defeat, Canseco claimed that he had torn his shoulder three to four months prior to the fight and believed that he was match-ready and he was also seen grabbing his shoulders after sustaining the knockout from Football.
