The campaign also comes with an air of challenge and reward, as the first person who correctly guess the number of soda bottles in the video will be rewarded with a $1 million prize.

About the commercial, Cena commented that he was beyond excited to work on the project as he is a lifelong drinker of the Mountain Dew brand.

“I’ve been a DEW drinker for many years, so I was beyond excited to get the call to be a part of the Mtn Dew Major Melon Super Bowl commercial,” he said in a statement published by the company.

He emphasized the role of commercials during the half time of Super Bowl, and said that he feels like the fans are going to be crazy over this advert. He added that the challenge and reward aspect could change the life of one lucky fan.

“Commercials play an important role during the big game and I have a feeling fans are going to go nuts for this one. The Mtn Dew Major Melon commercial is truly a life changing opportunity for one lucky fan,” Cena said in the statement.

HE WOULD, IN ALL PROBABILITY, NOT APPEAR AT WRESTLEMANIA 37

Cena has recently confirmed that he would not appear at the upcoming Wrestlemania 37, due to his shooting schedule. According to him, his appearance at Wrestlemania would require two weeks of quarantine back and forth, thus stopping and sabotaging the production of the HBO series he was working on. According to him, there is no mathematical way for him to appear at the mega event.

Cena even spoke about his own past opinions on part-timers and the hypocritical situation he is in right now: “What a hypocritical situation. I used to be very open about the fact that part-timers were just that, and here I am at 44 years old and I’ve become what I despise, as they say. That is kind of what it is.”
