Undisputed super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo warns that he will take some lessons from Dmitry Bivol and Floyd Mayweather in order to see how Canelo Alvarez should be beaten.

I have to rewatch those fights: Jermell Charlo

Bivol and Mayweather are the only two fighters who have been able to officially beat Canelo, and Charlo says he will watch those fights again to study them and apply some of the things they applied when he locks horns with the undisputed super middleweight titleholder on the 30th of September in Las Vegas.

“Of course, I have to rewatch those fights to see what happened, see what he did, and the mistakes he made to try to capitalize on them,” said Charlo in an interview with Fight Hype.

All that being said, Charlo himself acknowledges that due to the fact that Canelo may no longer be the same fighter who fought against Bivol last year, much less the one who faced Mayweather a decade back and those things that worked against him back then, may not work at present.

“He is not the same fighter anymore, he could change some things and he will try to figure me out too,” added Charlo.

Canelo, the undisputed champion at 168, will have his 64th match as a professional in facing another undisputed champion in Charlo, who is the undisputed champion of the 154-pound division and the only one in history within the division.

The fight, which will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, is also the first undisputed vs. undisputed clash in the four-belt era of professional boxing, and the belts that will be up for grabs are Canelo’s WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF titles at super middleweight.
