WWE Chairman Vince McMahon takes the final call in the company regarding the storylines and creative plans. WWE talents have been vocal about McMahon scrapping off the ideas pitched by them.

Recently, the former WWE star Heath Slater also voiced his opinion about this matter.

Vince McMahon accused of holding back the talents

Vince McMahon has been criticized on multiple occasions and the biggest one being not giving creative freedom to the talents. This aspect has led to multiple stars leaving the company.

Vince McMahon has held back stars including the likes of Miro, Damien Sandow, Matt Cardona and more have all been vocal about this in the past.

Heath Slater recently joined in for an interview and spoke to Title Match Wrestling reflecting on his 2016 free agent storyline. Fans were certainly behind him at that time but Slater felt that Vince did not want to give him more television time. Slater then accused Vince McMahon of holding back WWE Superstars until McMahon himself decides it.

He said: “It was one of those things, man. I already saw it happen so many times with other guys. The people want it, Vince doesn’t want it. So the people are gonna let you know they want it, but Vince is just gonna keep that guy back and not gonna give it to you until he wants you to have it. It was one of those things like, yeah, I heard it, I appreciated it and I loved it.”

It is not known if WWE will ever change regarding trying to hold back stars who get over with fans.

It has been noted that Heath Slater is still recovering from having multiple surgeries, but he will not be hanging up his boots anytime soon. He could follow the footsteps of former 3MB stablemates, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal, who were fired but later on returned and won the WWE Championship.

Slater spent a decade on WWE’s main roster but he never held a major singles title during his time with the company. His only singles title reign came in 2019 when he briefly held the 24/7 Championship on RAW.

Slater won the WWE Tag Team Championship three times with Justin Gabriel earlier in his WWE career. He also held the SmackDown Tag Team Championship on one occasion with Rhyno.
