A recent video showcased the two famous collisions at Japanese GP between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost which altered not just race results but the championship fate for the drivers.
One incident was in Lap 47 of 1989 and the other was in 1990. These collisions not only shaped their rivalry but also left an indelible mark on Formula 1 history. In 1989 Senna made a daring move, lunging to the inside of Prost. The two McLarens collided, causing huge controversy. Senna won the race, but the collision led to a disqualification due to re-entering the track incorrectly after the crash. This decision ultimately handed the championship to Prost.
Senna, desperate to secure the title, rammed into Prost at the first corner at Suzuka. Both cars were taken out of the race. Senna won the championship, but the move was deeply controversial. Many observers felt that Senna had deliberately taken Prost out.
