Netherlands thrashed USA in a 3-1 affair in the Round of 16 fixture and with the win they entered the Quarterfinals in the ongoing FIFA World Cup at the Khalifa International Stadium in Qatar.

Memphis Depay scored in the 10th-minute had opened the scoring for the Dutch. He slotted the ball into the net with a shot from inside the box. Right on the cusp of half-time, Daley Blind swept in Netherlands’ second to put his team 2-0 ahead.
Haji Wright pulled one back for USA in the second-half to instill some hope in the hearts of fans with Christian Pulisic assisting him. However, just minutes later, Denzel Dumfries, scored his first goal of the tournament to make it 3-1 and shattered the hopes for USA.
Dumfries turned into a goalscorer by volleying a Blind cross. Denzel Dumfries assisted twice as the Dutch put in a total masterclass throughout 90 minutes. USA couldn’t make any late comeback and lost the match 1-3.
