EVERYWHERE, the potential GTA 6 rival being made by former Rockstar devs, moves to Unreal Engine

EVERYWHERE, an upcoming open-world sci-fi game, currently under development by a number of former Rockstar Games developers and expected do rival the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, has now shifted its development to the renowned Unreal Engine.

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series is undoubtedly one of the greatest open-world action-adventure franchises of all time, with each release setting a new benchmark in the genre. Their latest entry, GTA V has been critically acclaimed as the greatest open-world game of the current generation and has achieved monumental success since the day of its release.

The next instalment of the franchise, GTA 6, has been rumoured to be in development for quite some time now and is expected to raise the bar even higher. However, a group of former Rockstar devs have joined hands and announced a new contender in the arena- EVERYWHERE, which can potentially become a rival to GTA 6.

EVERYWHERE: A competitor to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6 is now on Unreal Engine

EVERYWHERE, stylised as ‘EVERYWHER3’, is a game currently under development by Build A Rocket Boy Studio, which includes several former Rockstar employees, including Leslie Benzies, former president of Rockstar North.

“There’s’ a war between good and evil in the hearts of men and women. Everything is changing. And there’s no going back. It’s a game. It’s a community. It’s a new world. The storm is on the horizon. And it is only the beginning of EVERYWHER3,” the game’s teaser poster read.

On 13th November, Leslie Benzies announced that the game is now being developed on the Unreal Engine, replacing the old Amazon’s Lumberyard engine, which essentially means EVERYWHERE will potentially get a release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and their previous generation consoles as well.

“The [Unreal] engine’s tech advances over the last two years, and Epic Games’ roadmap provides us a great opportunity to create a game built on a foundation that will remain at the forefront of the industry for years to come,” Benzies stated on the game’s official website.
