BISCHOFF WAS PARTICULARLY WELL-KNOWN FOR PRODUCTION VALUES OF HIS SHOW

Bischoff was particularly well known for placing a major focus on production values in his WCW days, which is considered by many to be a reason for the promotion’s initial dominance in the infamous Monday Night War. The production values of WCW made Vince McMahon in WWE add focus to it as well, and WWE finally went on to not only win the Monday Night War but decimate and consume their opponent in the process.

WWE’S SHOWS ARE SHOT SO PERFECT THAT THEY FAIL TO FEEL LIKE A LIVE EVENT, SAYS BISCHOFF

Speaking about WWE’s presentation of its shows, Bischoff opines that the promotion, once his sworn rival, is almost unbeatable at that aspect of their live events. However, he believes, that WWE does it almost too well, which means that the camera and light are of such top-notch quality and the events are shot so well that the live events do not feel like live events at all. The flawless production makes him feel that the event is not being shot live at all.

“I said this a long time ago before I ever went back to work for WWE and I’m gonna say it again right now – WWE is so good at live event production. Nobody does it better than WWE. The problem is, they do it too well. When I watch WWE, if I drop in on a Monday Night Raw, it doesn’t feel live to me. It’s shot so well, it’s so clean, the production values are so high, there are no mistakes, there are no flaws minor or otherwise. It’s just so perfect that it doesn’t feel live,” he commented.

HE BELIEVES AEW IS BETTER WITH THEIR TENDENCY

About AEW, he says that he likes their tendency to stress on the in-ring action instead of the camera and the lights, which makes their events feel more like a live show. Although he does not like all of their prefered production strategies, he feels the tendency a tiny bit better than that of WWE.

“What I like about AEW is that it feels live to me. They don’t stress the production values above all else. It’s the action in the ring. I love the way they do some of their interviews, not all. The stories feel a little more real and organic to me,” Bischoff said.
