Professional streamer Ben Lupo, who goes by the name “DrLupo” on Twitch, has dropped jaws among his fanbase as he has raised over $2 million within 24 hours in his annual cancer charity stream.
For three years, DrLupo has been raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital under the ‘Build Against Cancer’ charity event and has raised a total of $10 million till date, recorded the highest funds raised ever for the hospital by a streamer.
Along with such a feat, Lupo has now set another example by clocking $2.3 million under 24 hours for the hospital.

DrLupo’s ‘Build Against Cancer’ broadcast event raises over $2 million for St Jude in a day
The broadcast kicked off from 19th December onwards and featured fellow popular Twitch streamers like Lupo’s former collaborator Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, as well as several sponsors and other companies including Intel, Samsung, Logitech, NZXT, Gillette etc.
The event also featured other popular streamers like Anne Munition, CouRage, Sypher and also actors Rahul Kohli and Robbie Amell, who collectively raised $1.1 million.
Moreover, Twitch themselves repeated their last year’s gesture and donated another $1 million, upping Build Against Cancer’s total raise above $2 million.
“They were INSPIRED by all the money you’ve raised, so Twitch did it AGAIN! 1 million donation for @StJude! We are now OVER $2,118,000 to work to end childhood cancer. THANK YOU! #BuildAgainstCancer” Lupo tweeted.
Within 24 hours, the event had raised a total of $2,307,106.57 as DrLupo revealed in a follow-up tweet.
“Your stream is the embodiment of purpose and we are so in awe of your support. Thank you for everything you do for the kids of St. Jude!” the hospital showed their gratitude on Twitter.
At the end, Lupo also thanked his wife and manager MrsDrLupo via a tweet.
“Months of work by tons of people to coordinate an insane number of schedules that culminated in #BuildAgainstCancer for @StJude has finally come to fruition. This was the work of many people, but the top of that list is @MrsDrLupo. This was her event 😍” the streamer wrote.
