Deshaun Watson’s name has been up on the headlines, but not the way the Houston Texans quarterback wants.
According to the latest reports, a lawsuit has been filed against the player, accusing him of sexually assaulting a woman.
The claim was first made by FOX 26, who reported that the Texans attorney Tony Buzbee revealed via a social media post that during a massage session, Watson “went too far” with the masseuse.
While Buzbee chose not to provide any more details, his law firm has decided to file the lawsuit against Watson, on behalf of the female masseuse.
Never treated any woman with anything other than the utmost respect: Deshaun Watson responds
Soon afterwards, the news about the lawsuit caught Watson’s eye, and the QB came up with a response of his own, claiming that Buzbee demanded a six-figure settlement before filing the lawsuit.
“As a result of a social media post by a publicity-seeking plaintiff’s lawyer, I recently became aware of a lawsuit that has apparently been filed against me. I have not yet seen the complaint, but I know this: I have never treated any woman with anything other than the utmost respect,” Watson wrote on Twitter.
“The plaintiff’s lawyer claims that this isn’t about money, but before filing suit he made a baseless six-figure settlement demand, which I quickly rejected. Unlike him, this isn’t about money for me – it’s about clearing my name, and I look forward to doing that,” the 25-year-old added.
