The famed US wrestler David Taylor clinched the gold medal at the Olympics after defeating top seed Hassan Yazdani of Iran.
Dubbed as the “Magic Man”, America had all her hopes pinned on the Penn State wrestler and Taylor did not disappoint. He had saved his last love the final few seconds of the 86kg men’s freestyle event held in Tokyo, Japan.
The clock was ticking. With just 15 seconds remaining, the wrestler star made his final move to take down Yazdani. After his win, he became the first ever Penn State wrestler to have become an Olympic champion.

He received high praises from NBC wrestling analyst, Jordan Burroughs who made the prediction that Taylor is going to win some more medals for his country and this is just the beginning.
The first time Olympic champion has a track record of winning gold at Summer and Winter Olympics. He is also a two time NCAA champion.
Taking down Yazdani is no easy feat as the Iranian wrestler has previously won the Olympics in the 74kg category. He is also a two time world champion.
Taylor entered the ring knowing what he had to do to defeat the defending Olympic champion. Yazdani had gained some advantage over him after earning penalty points in the beginning but it did not take Taylor too long to tie the match.
This is not the first time that Taylor defeated him, in fact this is his third time. Yazdani lost to Talor once in 2017 World Championship and the 2018 World Championship.
