The Fatal Four-Way No. 1 contender’s match for Roman Reigns’ WWE Universal Championship was scheduled for September 4 episode of Friday Night Smackdown. Sheamus, Baron Corbin, Matt Riddle and Big E were set to collide for the title match opportunity at WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view. But, it is Jey Uso who will face his cousin, Roman Reigns.
Jey Uso to take on Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions
During a backstage segment in the latest edition of Friday Night Smackdown, Big E got the news of returning Xavier Woods, but only to find it as a trap and was brutally attacked by Sheamus. Sheamus then hit his ‘White Noise’ move on the windshield of a car.
Big E was taken to a nearby medical facility and suffered injuries. Apparently, Paul Heyman convinced Adam Pearce to put Jey Uso into the match.
Later, it was confirmed that Jey Uso, Roman Reigns’ cousin would take the spot of Big E in the Fatal Four Way No. 1 Contender’s match for the Universal Championship match at Clash of Champions.
In the closing moments of the match, Jey Uso landed the top rope splash on Matt Riddle. He then pinned Riddled on to the mat for the count of three. Thereby, becoming the No. 1 contender and will face ‘The Big Dog’ Roman Reigns at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view.

Roman Reigns has freshly won the WWE Universal Championship at WWE Summerslam. It will not be this soon that ‘The Big Dog’ would lose the WWE Universal title. He will be eyeing to establish himself as the top heel on the blue brand, now that he is allied with Paul Heyman.
With Big E, who has just begun his solo run in the company, it is too early to be in the title picture and this might be the reason he is ruled out of the match.
WWE is moving forward well with the family feud angle. This would give ‘The Big Dog’ a good direction in his career. Roman Reigns is possibly going to squash Jey Uso at Clash of Champions and going over the family is a great way to cement his heel persona.
On September 27, Roman Reigns is set to collide with Jey Uso with WWE Universal Championship on the line at WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view, live from WWE Thunderdome at the Amway Center.
