What happened in the game?
The initial stage of the game was not in favor of the Blackhawks. In a slow start, they took 15 minutes to put their first shot on net. It wasn’t the best of performance which the fans had hoped for after a couple of formidable losses before Christmas. However, Blackhawks registered the first goal of the night, thanks to the rising superstar Connor Bedard.
The second period saw Jets scoring an early goal to equalize and the score remained the same after 40 minutes. The goaltender’s remarkable performance made sure that the Blackhawks remained in contention and managed to make a comeback.
The Blackhawks grasped control in the third period, outshooting the Jets 8-0 in the first half of the frame. However, they couldn’t find the back of the net which led to the overtime thriller.
In the first period of overtime, Connor Bedard showcased his offensive prowess with three shots on goal and he finally rose to the occasion to score the winning goal for his side.
What a way to put an end to his goal-scoring drought at home since November 4!
