Chelsea Green, the WWE star made her official Friday Night SmackDown debut on the latest edition of the show. But, it did not go according to the plan as she suffered a broken wrist during her debut match.
Chelsea Green suffered a broken wrist and was hospitalised
Chelsea Green was recently promoted to the main roster from NXT but she made her official debut on the blue brand on Friday. She first appeared in the backstage segment with WWE official, Adam Pearce.
The backstage segment saw Natalya complaining about not being in the Women’s Team Smackdown for Survivor Series and she was put in a triple-threat match to qualify for the team. Then Chelsea Green was seen in Adam Pearce’s office.
Then just before the match it was revealed that Green would be in the qualification match as well, along with Natalya, Liv Morgan and Tamina. During the course of the match, there was a spot where Liv Morgan hit a dropkick on Green that sent her off the apron.
But, it seems she might have landed wrongly and sustained a broken wrist. Following that spot, she was not witnessed for the rest of the match.
Later, WWE confirmed the injury as they wrote on their website:
“During the Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match for the opportunity to qualify for the SmackDown Women’s Survivor Series team on Friday evening, Chelsea Green suffered a broken left wrist. Chelsea was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation”
The star also took to her Instagram account as she provided an update on her injury. She also posted the pictures of the x-rays that showed the broken wrist.
She captioned, “Just another twist in my @wwe story tonight! If you wondered where I went after my entrance, here’s your answer… another broken arm. Nothing I haven’t dealt with before! I’ll be back before you know it! [blue heart emoji]”
Last year, she had suffered a similar injury during a taping of NXT and she needed surgery to get her arm repaired. It is not known how much serious the recent injury is. But, Chelsea Green would be disappointed with the injury and it is not the debut that she would like to recall in the future.
