Charlotte Flair, the WWE star recently made a bold statement involving former UFC star, Ronda Rousey who has been away from WWE for a long time now.
Charlotte Flair believes WWE doesn’t need Ronda Rousey
Charlotte Flair, who is one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Asuka recently spoke about UFC Hall of Famer and former RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey.
The Queen was part of the pre-Royal Rumble press conference and she had a discussion with Vicente Beltrán.
The discussion primarily focussed on whether Ronda Rousey is essential to the women’s division. The former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion noted that Ronda Rousey could surely add to the current WWE women’s division, but WWE doesn’t need her. Alex McCarthy of TalkSport reported that Charlotte Flair quoted a bold remark.
He Tweeted: “Can Ronda Rousey add to the division? Absolutely. Do we need her? No.” – Charlotte Flair.
Charlotte Flair-Ronda Rousey rivalry
Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey had squared off in the ring multiple times. Back in 2018, The Queen and the Rowdy One collided at WWE Survivor Series.
They put on a great match at the show and the ending saw Flair hit her with several kendo stick shots and match resulted in a disqualification as Rousey won the match.
Both the stars were featured in the first-ever women’s main event of WrestleMania at the 35th annual of the show, in a “winner takes all” triple threat match which saw Becky Lynch in the mix as well as she had won the 2019 women’s Royal Rumble.
Charlotte Flair was then the SmackDown Women’s Champion, while Ronda Rousey was the RAW Women’s Champion.
Becky Lynch won the match and captured both the titles and became the first woman to hold both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s titles at the same time.
The Road to WrestleMania is set to begin with the Royal Rumble pay-per-view this Sunday and there have been speculations that the Baddest Woman on the Planet could possibly make her much awaited return.
At the event, Charlotte Flair will team-up with WWE Raw Women’s Champion Asuka and defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles against the team of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.
