Canelo Alvarez (57-1-2, 38 KOs) was on the path to make history, and the Mexican maestro has just clinched the sky, by becoming the first ever undisputed super middleweight champion of the world, with his 11th round TKO victory over Caleb Plant at the MGM Grand Garden Arena this Saturday night.

The WBC, WBA (Super) and WBO titleholder, who fought three times within a span of five months, was last seen in action against Billy Joe Saunders. On the other hand, it was the biggest fight of Plant, who just lost his IBF title to the newly crowned undisputed king at 168.

From the first round, Canelo kept his patience while Plant went on to the offensive. However, it was only the second round when the Mexican started to return the blows from Plant and continued to land massive left-right combos on his opponent.

By the fifth round, Plant was visibly getting tired, while Canelo continued to overpower him with brutal connections and as the fight reached its penultimate round, a swinging left hook had shaken up Plant, followed by a vicious right from the 31-year-old that dropped the American to the canvas.
