BRYAN ALVAREZ NOTES A POSSIBILITY OF LESNAR VS LASHLEY

The name of the former WWE Universal Champion was uttered on the Monday Night show, the former flagship weekly event of WWE. The name was spoken due to a specific circumstance. Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston, both former WWE Champions, were involved in trash-talking each other ahead of their number one contender’s match for the championship, now held by Bobby Lashley.

McIntyre recalled that while he did defeat “The Beast Incarnate” to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, Kingston infamously ended his sole Championship reign with a squash defeat to the former MMA fighter. Bobby Lashley, the current WWE Champion, went on to note that they were reciting words about someone who did not even work for the company.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has seen the segment, especially Lashley’s words as an apparent indication by WWE about a future feud between Lashley and Lesnar. As the lines are scripted, he guesses that they were spoken for a reason, and just for display. He speculates that the match between the former MMA fighters, one that fans have longed for quite some time, may become a reality, as it may be WWE’s plan for Summerslam or WrestleMania 38.

“When I heard that I thought that they are building toward Lashley vs Lesnar. That is a match that they have not done. It is a match that people have been asking for a long time and maybe that’s their plan for SummerSlam. Maybe that is their plan for WrestleMania, etc,” Alvarez reported.

A FEUD WITH ROMAN REIGNS IS ALSO POSSIBLE

In a recent interview, current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns went on to dub his predecessor’s reigns with the Championship an enormous turn-off for the fans, primarily due to his part-time schedule. Reigns then went on to acclaim himself for arranging attention and prestige back to the Title. “The Beast” was, of course, the most dominant holder of the Championship, and with Paul Heyman managing Reigns at the moment, Lesnar returning to altercate with Reigns might result in intriguing scenarios.
