The former WWE star Booker T has slammed the recent rumors about him making an in-ring return to the company.
Booker T opens up on his in-ring return
Booker T had recently made his in-ring competion at Reality of Wrestling promotion and speculations had began that he would certainly return to in-ring competition in WWE, where he was last witnessed in the squared circle back in 2012.
He receently brought back his G.I. Bro character during Bad Bunny’s performance at last Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
Former WWE star and WWE EVP of Global Talent Strategy and Development, Triple H gave a shoutout to Booker T and heaped praise on his WrestleMania 19 opponent for stating : “looking ready [for] another in-ring run.”
On the recent edition of Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T’s co-host, Brad Gilmore, brought up the topic and the six-time World Champion addressed the rumor of him teaming up with Bad Bunny for a tag team match at WrestleMania 37.
Booker T went on to say that WWE did not contact him regarding an in-ring return and clearly stated that it is an complete rumor.
He said “While I can say that it is 100% – I think it came from Meltzer – I think it is 100% a rumor. No one has talked to me about it as far as having a match at WrestleMania. No one has talked to me about tag teaming with Bad Bunny to go against anyone.”
Booker T vs Triple H in the future?
There were also discussion about a potential WrestleMania rematch against Triple H in Saudi Arabia. Interestingly, Booker T admitted that he is ready for an in-ring return but it has to be done.
He said: “And I talked about it very, very clearly – vividly – here on this show that I am willing to have a match, but it has to be right. Circumstances has to be right. I don’t want to be jumping in the ring just to be jumping in the ring.”
He added: “I said that Saudi Arabia would be a great time for me to come back and do something. People out there in Saudi still watching old people, still think I’m current [laughs].”
Booker T said that his only WrestleMania duty as of the current situation is behind the desk. He emphasized on ‘card subject to change’ clause which could possibly get him on the card for a bout.
