Big E, the WWE star talked about a conversation which he had with the wrestling legend, The Undertaker. ‘The Phenom’ is completing thirty years in WWE and Big E opened up on the encounter with the legend.
Big E recalls the conversation with The Undertaker
Big E is currently having a singles run in WWE and is reportedly set to get a huge push after he separated from The New Day on 2020 WWE Draft.
During the interview, he said that witnessing the on-screen Undertaker is what the people remember. However, the backstage talks were the real stuff from which the talents got inspired. The former New member remembered such a conversation.
He said, “Most people will remember the on-screen stuff but for us, as performers, getting those backstage conversations [with The Undertaker] was like gold.”
The Undertaker had praised Big E for the personality which he showed during the early days of his career in WWE. The former New Day member was awed with the appreciation of the veteran star.
He said, “I remember one such conversation when he told me, ‘Man, I watched you when you first came up [to the main roster], and I had no idea you had as much personality as you showed. When I heard that, it really made my day.”
“To be honest, it more than just my day, to be complimented by a guy like that, a man of his stature. I was really appreciative”, he added.
Big E also mentioned how The Undertaker’s children were huge fans of The New Day which is a great honour for him. Talents addressed ‘The Deadman’ as ‘the Godfather of wrestling’ in the backstage. Whenever they needed to have an actual conversation, he was never out of reach.
In the honour of The Undertaker’s thirty years anniversary, the Survivor Series will be dedicated to the man himself and WWE Network programming is also airing to celebrate the three decades.
‘The Phenom’ is an inspiration for all in the true sense and he will go down in the history as one of the greatest wrestlers in WWE and a wrestling icon to have blessed the squared circle.
