AJ Styles, current WWE Intercontinental Champion did a live stream on Twitch last week. He answered some fans and played some video games.
AJ Styles vs Edge in the future?
During the live stream, a fan asked “The Phenomenal One” about his dream opponent. He replied that we wanted to have a match with the “Rated R Superstar”, Edge.
He looked determined to face him but will have to wait till Edge returns from injury. Both the wrestlers are in the wrestling industry for 25 long years and they haven’t worked together a match yet. It’s surprising
AJ Styles said, “I’ve got to have a match with Edge before him and I both retire. I think that’s something that we both want. I know he tore his tricep, and hopefully it’s a speedy recovery for him. That’s one that I want badly, and I think that he would like to have one as well. It would be great. I’m still looking forward to it, Edge.”
It seems that both the superstars have the same desire to face each other in the ring. Edge also once stated, “AJ Styles and Edge has to happen.In 25 years in the same industry, we’ve never touched. How is that possible? Guy like Roman Reigns, man, he’s special. He’s a leader and he needs other leaders, and that’s what I can be. We felt a little bit of that at the Rumble, too. Seth Rollins has to happen; Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Nakumura, Sami Zayn, Aleister Black for sure, Matt Riddle, WALTER, Tommaso Ciampa, Velveteen Dream. Give them all to me, man.”
AJ Styles have wrestled all around the globe and earned his name in all renowned wrestling promotions and independent circuit including Total Non-Stop Action(TNA), Ring of Honor(ROH) and New Japan Pro Wrestling(NJPW).
He made his WWE debut at Royal Rumble 2016 and went on to win WWE United States Championship 3 times, WWE Championship 2 times and WWE Intercontinental Championship 1 time and he is the current holder.
AJ Styles has wrestled many great wrestler in the ring including Christian,Edge’s real life best friend.But facing Edge would be as exciting as it sounds. Dream matches do come true. We’ll have to wait if Edge responds to this challenge and if WWE actually builds up this match then we might have this on the card.
