Braun Strowman on how ‘body dysmorphia’ affected his fitness

WWE star Braun Strowman recently had an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. He went on to discuss how he has utilized the pandemic period in a positive way to work on his body and present a better version of himself.

Braun Strowman is undoubtedly a powerhouse in the squared circle. ‘The Monster Among Men’ suits the star quite well. But it takes a lot of hard work to maintain the fitness and the former WWE Universal Champion has mentioned on multiple occassions how he had to deal with his body his whole life.

He always had issues with the way he looked and dealt with ‘body dysmorphia’. His weight had jumped from 285 pounds to over 400 while he was actively competing in strongman competitions, but now he’s back down to 349 pounds.

Braun Strowman revealed that he made some changes in his life. He had worked with a nutritionist, got a new trainer, and changed the way of his gym routine and eating. Strowman said that the new lifestyle had brought changes to him, both mentally and physically while he is glad to go through the learning process.

The Monster Among Men now weighs 394 pounds and he is confident with his physique now. Strowman revealed that his five-month run as WWE Universal Champion gave him a boost in the confidence. Though there has not been any live crowd present in the WWE shows, Strowman said that it only made them better in terms of presenting and storytelling. However, he admitted it was very hard for them.

He said: “This is a profession that takes time. I have less than six years on the main roster, and less than eight years in a wrestling ring. Working through the pandemic without a crowd, that was hard. It was so strange to have nobody there, hearing every breath you’d take. Looking back, that experience has made us better. We had to tighten up our game.
