Recently “Feeder Series” shared a post on X announcing the Prema Racing driver’s appearance in Red Bull Racing for the test. The post also mentioned that currently racing with Prema he is positioned on 9th.
Antonelli will drive the 2021 Mercedes W12 which helped Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas during the previous great season for Mercedes. However, the 2-day test will allow the 17-year-old to make better adaptations to the car including its power and handling characteristics. In fact, if he becomes successful he will have a better chance to fill Lewis Hamilton’s seat for the team as well in 2025.
Will Antonelli take Lewis Hamilton’s seat in 2025?
As a key member of the Prema Racing team, he has consistently demonstrated his prowess on the track. Now, with the opportunity to test an F1 car, Antonelli stands at the threshold of a new chapter in his racing career.
Mercedes closely monitors Antonelli’s progress. His performance this year will significantly influence the team’s decision. With the vacant seat left by Lewis Hamilton, the stakes are high. Could Antonelli be the one to fill those illustrious shoes in the 2025 season and beyond? The answer lies in his upcoming outings.
