The WWE roster is not reacting too kindly to the company’s impositions of their third-party streaming accounts, reports suggest, with several personnel unhappy with the decisions taken by the company.
WWE’s controversial decision to strip their personnel of their right to use streaming platforms to earn some extra revenue has been seen as too demanding, and even unethical at some, with politicians commenting on the topic.
Cesaro, Paige, AJ Styles and others had to shut down their streaming accounts due to notice given by the company, with Paige in particular getting to know the news in the middle of a Twitch stream, after which she delivered an passionate rant against the company’s misuse of her. Since then, the wrestlers had reportedly met McMahon to discuss the matter, where their pleas were shot down.
WWE has mentioned that even if the wrestlers try to distance their tweet accounts from their pro-wrestler persona, they expect a percent of their revenue from such platforms, leading Paige to seriously consider unionization in wrestling.
Several WWE Personnel Has Contacted Andrew Yang
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, several wrestlers have went on to contact Democrat politician Andrew Yang about the matter. It is to be noted that Yang publicly spoke on this issue, slamming the company for their constant exploitation their personnel, which, according to him, is borderline illegal.
“Vince you’d better hope your old friend Donald wins because change is in the air and changes are long overdue where your corrupt labor practices are concerned. It would give me great pleasure. The people know,” Yang had posted on Twitter on September.

Meltzer noted that Yang knows many wrestlers personally and being a huge pro-wrestling fan himself, is more than willing to champion their cause.
“Even companies like Fedex, who are way bigger than WWE, are losing the independent contractor fight,” Meltzer said, indicating that if Democrats win, WWE will have to change a lot about their treatment of personnel.
On the other hand, he mentions that if Trump wins, Vince McMahon shall become untouchable as before.
