Superstars reportedly want WrestleMania 38 to be a two-night event

WWE FIRST TURNED WRESTLEMANIA INTO A TWO NIGHT EVENT DURING THE 36TH EDITION

WWE made a variety of changes to the 36th edition of their flagship show to make it more accommodating in the middle of the rising Covid-19 pandemic. The result of an empty arena event scheduled over two nights. An inspiration was said to be taken from New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) flagship Wrestle Kingdom event, which had also been recently being held over two nights.

THE TWO NIGHT SYSTEM HAS GAINED A LOT OF FANS

While WrestleMania 37 was finally held in front of a limited number of paying audience, WWE’s first such event since the rise of the pandemic, it was still spread over two nights. The system has found support amongst WWE fans as the most recent editions of one night long Mania events tended to be overlong and thus, awkward to watch.

According to Fightful, many superstars and staff believe that the event is far more efficient as a two night extravaganza. In that way, fans do not get exhausted and an additional night of ticket sales might help both the company and the employees.

WRESTLEMANIA 38 WILL BE HELD AT AT&T STADIUM, ARLINGTON, TEXAS

The 38th edition of the annual mega event was originally scheduled to be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on April 3, 2022, although the date is currently unconfirmed. According to Fightful, it is because WWE is planning to arrange a two night event yet again. It will be the fourth WrestleMania to be held in the state of Texas , 17th, 25th, and 32nd, and the second to be held in this exact venue. Incidentally, the 32nd edition of the event in 2016 set the attendance record for a WrestleMania event at 101,763 paying fans, although outside sources had long disputed the claim.

The event is the most successful and longest-running professional wrestling event in history. It contributes to the worldwide commercial success of WWE through media, merchandise, and shows. It was conceptualized by WWE owner Vince McMahon, while long time WWE ring announcer and Hall of Famer Howard Finkel is credited with devising the name.
