The fight, marking Fury’s second WBC title defense since defeating Deontay Wilder in October last year, saw both pugilists taking it slow at first with keeping distance. Fury, however, landed one right hand on Whyte who had taken a southpaw stance at first.

The second round saw Fury switching between both stances, while Whyte, now in orthodox, swinging big without much connection. The third round saw the Body Snatcher losing patience and attempting to overhand right at every chance, while Fury landing more connections to the body.

In round 4, The Gypsy King landed a massive shot on Whyte who was attemtpting to land a left hook, was left with a small cut to his right eye. With both pugilists getting more bitter towards one another, the fifth round saw huge right hand to the body from Fury, followed by another massive connection on Whyte who’s legs were starting to give up.

Whyte made a final right hook attempt in sixth but Fury was able to defend and sends his fellow Briton into the ropes. The WBC champion finally settled the score with a huge uppercut, putting Whyte down on the canvas, followed by the referee stopping the fight.

Holding onto his coveted green and gold belt, Fury hinted that this may be his final fight, as well as lauding Whyte for his performance and addressing him as a potential future world champion.

“I promised my lovely wife Paris that after the Wilder 3 fight that would be it,” Fury spoke on his future plans in boxing, “And I meant it. But I got offered to fight at Wembley, and I believed I owed it to the fans. To every person in the UK. Now it’s all done, I have to be a man of my word. This might be it. This might be the final curtain. What a way to go out.”

“Dillian [Whyte] is a warrior and I believe he will be a world champion. One of the greatest and, unfortunately, he had to fight me tonight. You are not messing with a mediocre heavyweight, you are messing with the best man on the planet.” [H/T Standard.co.uk]
