The Fights we want to see in 2022

We’re already three months into the New Year and, while there have been some thrilling boxing bouts to date, 2022 has much more in store. Fight fans have some mouthwatering contests to look forward to while other prospective battles have yet to be confirmed.

With so much scheduling still to take place, it’s a good chance to look at the fights that we want to see across the remainder of the year.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

It’s fair to say that British boxing fans are waiting with anticipation for this overdue contest. Anthony Joshua was due to face his compatriot but defeat to Oleksandr Usyk means that AJ has triggered the option for a rematch.

With Usyk’s immediate future in doubt, Fury v Joshua could finally happen. The Gypsy King is set to take on Dillian Whyte but victory in that contest may leave him clear to take on AJ.

There is a feeling that this might happen and there are betting markets already in place for a Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua showdown. For the record, boxing betting sites affiliated with sbo.net have Fury installed as the clear favourite to win this prospective battle.

As and when such a fight is confirmed, those betting markets will fill up and more options will be available. There will be news updates and, if readers feel they are ready to get involved with any of the fights that are listed, it’s possible to place wagers too.

Sportsbooks referenced here are happy to accept new account holders and many have welcome packages laid down. If there are any questions, customer service can guide people through the sign up process and there are deposit options with which to add funds.

Once registration is complete, there will be a wide choice of other sports as well as all the big boxing battles. Ongoing promotions, high level security and the potential to live stream top class sport are also available in places.

In short, it’s the site to follow for boxing bettors, even if that Fury v Joshua fight doesn’t come to fruition.

Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin III

Some matchups run their course very quickly while others just keep on giving. We can’t get enough of the Canelo v Golovkin series and many feel that it’s time for a trilogy. The two men first met in 2017 when a split draw was unable to separate them.

The rematch took place almost exactly a year later when Canelo Alvarez came through on a majority decision. Three years on, Canelo and Golovkin still look to be evenly matched and should serve up another thriller if they are given the chance.

There have been talks over a trilogy fight and boxing fans would be eager to view the latest chapter.

Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence

It’s a fight that has been proposed for some time and the boxing world will be very frustrated that it hasn’t happened yet. Will 2022 finally be the year that Terrence Crawford steps into the ring with Errol Spence?

Until now, the two men have managed to avoid each other but it appears that they have nowhere to go. The likes of Kell Brook and Amir Khan no longer offer a tangible challenge in this weight division so it must be time for Crawford and Spence to get it together.

Jake Paul vs a Serious Challenger

This isn’t a name that everyone would want to see here but it’s certainly worth exploring Jake Paul’s potential as a boxer. The hype for the YouTuber is there but few would argue against the view that he has some genuine talent when he steps into a ring.

How far can that talent be taken? We’ll only know the real answer when he comes up against an opponent that can offer a serious test. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is one man who fits the bill but there are others who could truly examine Jake Paul’s credentials.

Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano

At least one fight is confirmed even if the format is sketchy. The biggest battle in women’s boxing for some time will finally go off in 2022 and Taylor vs Serrano may just prove to be the fight of the year.
